Cadila-based drugmaker Pfizer Inc. on Tuesday said it had suspended its purchase of a $1.4 billion erectile dysfunction (ED) prescription drug by Pfizer after a report of a patient complained of sexual dysfunction.
The news comes after Pfizer confirmed a report of a patient who complained of severe sexual dysfunction at the company’s headquarters in Puerto Rico, where the drugmaker is located.
“This announcement by Pfizer is an early indication of the company’s regulatory compliance and has the potential to further delay the approval of the product and delay the approval of the potential drug for erectile dysfunction,” Pfizer said in a statement.
